A 45 minute ad for DraftKings. Maybe the worst Finale in TV history

I've been watching TV for a while and I've seen some really really $hi**y Series Finales. Seinfeld, How I met Your mother, The Sopranos, Dexter (oh God Dexter). But never in all my years have I seen a Finale turned into a 45 minute shill for one of the show's sponsors. That was an insult to anyone who watched the show through 7 seasons. An abomination of the highest order. I was embarrassed I was watching it. I was embarrassed for the people in it. I was embarrassed for everyone who worked on the show. Frankly amazed that such a small show (that was largely hilarious) could create such a massive black eye for Television as a whole in one 45-minute-finale.

The Network and the creators should be ashamed of themselves. Hopefully they can drown that shame in the suitcase full of money they got from DraftKings. Barf.

Exactly. It was pathetic. Pete wins $1 million playing on DraftKings. They might as well have had the characters holding up a sign that told the audience this could be them as well, with a DraftKings logo on it.

It was the worst finale I've ever seen without question. The only part I liked was Pete's dance at the end when they revealed he was the dad. Besides that, it was horrible and time for the show to be put out to pasture.

No way the ONLY good part was the Larry David cameo.

yeah the whole season was a commercial for draft kings. And after seeing Jon Oliver's report on the company, shame on them.

I'm always thrilled to see Larry David in any context. But I was honestly left wondering if he knew what he'd married himself to when he signed up to cameo. Did he know it was going to be a shill when he did it?

The sad thing (for me) that I've played fantasy football off and on for over twenty years, and I don't know, nor want to know JACK *beep* about draft kings. And this infomercial that they masquerade as a series finale made me want to know even less about it

You shouldn't want to know. It's a scam that preys on the unintelligent and the worst type of gambling addicts (your chances of winning are infinitesimal). They're currently under investigation by the FBI.

The fact that they made this season of The League a commercial for what could be a criminal enterprise defies all logic. I figured they would've quit after the investigation commenced this fall but instead they doubled down for the finale.

I think it was a genius case of art imitating life. It mimics how impersonal and corporate a lot of fantasy football has become since the days when it was just buddies adding up point totals together on a sunday night. It also mimics the way the NFL is selling out in general. In that way it totally felt like a proper ending from a metaphorical and thematic standpoint, and if draftkings threw them a few extra bucks good for them.
