Pete

Does anyone hate Pete as much as me? I can not recall a single moment I laughed at something he did or said. And I watch this show over and over. He's by far the most annoying. I can't imagine anyone in real life taking fantasy football so seriously.

He dumps a girl when he loses one week. He messes up a relationship with a girl he really likes over a prank. He constantly uses football lingo in almost all conversations. I wish he wasn't one of the main characters or I wish he was used much less.

He's butt ugly and not funny or charming yet he constantly pulled hot women. I didn't mind him the first few seasons but he really became grating as the show progressed. I especially hated that he came out on top most of the time and ended up a millionaire at the end.

I would have preferred he had died painfully.

Definitely late to reply... But to be fair, if you think Jenny is good looking you gotta give him props as he's married to her in real life.

I like to believe that Pete's son (that he abandoned) secretly kills him to receive his inheritance.

I agree. Pete is super annoying with his smug, self-satisfied, condescending demeanor. He's out of shape, unattractive and has old man face. The character was never funny. He just made fun of other people. He just used the league to stroke his fantasy football ego and to hone up his line up skills, so he could win a ton of $$$$ on Draft Kings.

reply

I think the worst part about Pete was in season 3 when they faked the draft order just so Ruxin wouldn't get first pick. Then Ruxin has a stroke and instead of being a friend and just losing, he purposefully messes up his line up just to play Ruxin in the Sacko, and then won't take a loss cause he doesn't want the Sacko. He's a horrible friend who cares more about his standing in the fantasy league then his own best friends. It's a trophy he created as well.

@jtufts - You realize you just described the whole group, right? Maybe minus Andre, but they were all obsessed with fantasy football to the point of valuing that over friendship. The whole point of the show was them doing terrible things to each other, either for laughs or for fantasy football victory.

You are not alone. These days I can't even watch a movie with Mark Duplass without immediately being taken out of the scene because of my instant desire to stab him in the throat. He was in Zero Dark Thirty for about a minute and yet it ripped me out of that film as I was praying he was going to be a casualty of battle I had never heard of.

Just a smug little dildo that couldn't act his way out of paper bag. Writing isn't bad at all; terrible actor though.

reply

He's pretty good in the movie "Creep," though. Give it a go.

reply

Also good in "safety guaranteed".

reply

he is a better actor in thinks that he directs himself with his bro.

YES! Omg half the reason I watch this show is to hate-watch that ugly, entitled little punk! (By the way, the actor himself is far less unbearable in other work, but this show has ruined him for me and I will ALWAYS hate him!). The Gina Gibiatti episodes are some of my favorites because she hands him his ass on a platter. It's awesome! All that being said though, and despite the fact that this show is completely sexist, racist, xenophobic, and just plain wrong, The League will always be one of my problematic favorites.

All of the characters on the show are deeply flawed individuals in ways that make them funny, except for Pete. It's like when they were creating the show they thought they had to throw in a traditional sitcom wise-cracking cool guy for the men in the audience to wish to be like. Constantly scoring with young women, joining in with the guest stars when they mock Andre...the character is a douchebag fantasy.

reply

YES!!

He is a smug prick. He should have married his own hand at the end of the show.
