Hearing DeLillo's dialogue spoken

Characters speak in these terse syncopated statements to each other that I always enjoyed reading, so it was interesting to hear it spoken. I think it worked in this film (though I know most people hated it) and took on an extra element of humour that I didn't find in the book. If you're familiar with DeLillo, what did you think?

Though I've only read "End Zone" and part of "White Noise," I think DeLillo loves to write characters that speak either unrealistically eloquently and dramatically or in a way that's incredibly low-brow. "End Zone" is almost entirely about the play between those two speaking styles, as well as the mindsets behind them. I thought it was great in this film, but it did feel pretty severe at parts where the ONLY dialogue was super intellectual and stunted, i.e. the limo ride with him the lady talking about philosophy as opposed to when he's getting his hair cut and talking to the barber.

Him the lady? He was a lady?? No wonder.

Hold on while I wipe these eggs off my face. 
