I'd give it a Bee-minus

Colony collapse disaster is a crucial environmental issue worthy of credible scientific treatment, but unfortunately this film gets bogged down in a family internal struggles and does a disappointing job of explaining the problem. It's a difficult topic to tackle because of all the unknowns, but I would have appreciated more science and less squabble here. The photography, however, is stunningly beautiful. 7/10 stars from me.

Agreed on all accounts. CCD is a huge deal, yet this movie mainly looks at ONE family and their inability to make ends meet. While it signifies what's going to happen to bee keepers as a whole, the Mother was greedy and huge chunks of film were wasted on her whining about renegotiating their contracts.

I wanted a more scientific approach to the whole thing, instead the directors clearly had nothing to add to the question of why this is happening, so they went with the human interest route. It's something we expect from the nightly news, not a documentary... 6/10 from me...
