Truly terrible, ghastly film

I dunno - perhaps it's the 'Iranian terrorists' at the beginning who chase after the family for no apparent reason, firing perhaps 5000 rounds from their vehicle yet fail to even break a window. They're wearing kyaffis, so of course they can be readily identified as terrorists. The family are then 'rescued' by some magically-appearing agents, who then whisk the father away and leave the wife and daughter to drive to where he's been whisked off to. He knows the end of the world is coming in four days, but doesn't bother to keep his wife and kid with him until changing his mind a couple of hours later, when he tells them to drive hell for leather to the secure bunker he's been taken to. Cue some terrible driving, whereby instead of slowing down when there's danger in the road the wife accelerates to 100mph+ then swerves off the road. This happens a lot. Eventually she gets a puncture. Then it's back to the 100mph dashes, after which they see a bit of lightning and run about a mile into the bush, for some unexplained reason.

Meanwhile, back at the bunker, some mad Russian is exclaiming all sorts of Cold War rubbish about nuclear weapons, interspersed with some weird plan to explode lots of nuclear weapons to provide a 'shield' against a 'supernova' shockwave coming in from outer space or something. The shuttle is used to deliver these nuclear weapons in multiple flights above the 'magnetosphere' (ignoring the fact that the shuttle can only manage a low earth orbit). Anyway, the shuttle blows up - after some confusing footage where the solid boosters are ejected, then they're back, then there's stock news footage of the shuttle that disintegrated on re-entry (how obscene to use footage of genuine astronauts deaths for some rubbish film).

The dude can't contact his wife on her cellphone because of a bad signal. No problem, says one of the agents, I'll boost the signal. He then attaches some wires to the phone in the bunker and voila he can reach the cellphone of his wife. He then tells her to go drive somewhere else - some other bunker, apparently.

It was at this point I gave up...... I really don't know what happened next, because by then my suspension of disbelief was hanging by a fingernail.
