Movie like this?

I've been looking for a movie that's similar to this one that was on Netflix approximately 6 or 8 months ago. It was another low budget film, but I liked it


The movie begins in a building like NASA or some government facility where they are controlling some kind of satellite to harness the power of the sun. Catastrophe strikes with an asteroid collides with the satellite and aims it directly towards the sun. The sun unleashes a powerful CME or solar flare directed at earth which cause all sorts of anomalies. Now the inventor of the satellite and his daughter race against time to save the earth. The first attempt fails and makes matter worse. The earth was saved by dropping a bomb down a giant hole.
