No Entourage?

I would have thought the King and Queen would have brought more "people." They arrived alone, except for the driver. The queen would have had to have a woman to take care of her clothes and all the details it takes to be a queen. And the King would have had a valet to get him together. From what I've read, the Royals don't even put their toothpaste on their brush, or ordinary things like turn a light off or on, open a door, etc. And this was in 1939 when royalty was really formal, more than it is now. I watched this late last night and all these thoughts came to mind.............

If you were to read factual accounts of their visit you would find that it happened quite differently from what is depicted in the movie. Plus it was not their first visit to FDR, they had visited him in Washington. So don't put any factual faith in what is depicted in this movie, or whether they didn't have an entourage, just observe it for fun.

They didn't arrive alone. There were others in the cars behind them.

They would have been housed separately in a servants' wing.

They also had people besides servants. Who do you think all those people at the dinner were? They weren't all Franklin and Eleanor's friends and government officials. There were probably a few brits there too. But the story wasn't about them so we don't notice them.
