Uneventful, but still an Okay movie - Low 5

This movie reminds me of a chick that goes down on you, but stop right before the PoP... There was so much possibility for a good film here, but it was all wasted. The movie in and of itself was OK, but just a wasted story line.... so much potential... However, I like the way the ending came full circle ;)

Wow...I never thought of it that way but ok. That is the problem with many horror films and films in general. Some are great at devising a premise and even interesting characters. On certain occasions you even get the horror director who is excellent at conjuring up suspense (Ty West) and keeping you on edge. However, ending the movie with a clever thats not too hokie/predictable/lame is rare. It almost even seems that if a horror flick has a good ending it can even lift the overall movie in itself. I understand where you are coming from.

I have to agree with you on the movie as well. I loved the two leads Legros was excellent in this. Leonard a little over the top but he plays an almost perfect jagoff. I'm an hour into this last night and I'm thinking, man this is a solid horror film, it's almost ashame that the ending is going to put a dent into this. Yes, the ending was dissapointing, anti-climatic how he dispatched the progatonist (Leonard) and really bringing his wife into the story seemed to throw off the pacing of the film. It just seemed the last 15 minutes of the movie seemed rushed, forced, and sloppy. But other than that, I really was impressed with the story and the leads.

Maybe the bringing in the wife did throw the pacing off a bit but like in Misery The one who was kidnapped needed someone on the outside looking for them. This brings an edge to the kidnapper. "People are going to be looking for the person I kidnapped. This also means they will be looking for me. I need to do something about this."

I agree, kerrykop.

I kind of agree with bits of all earlier posts.

Low 5 yes.

No need for the wife's interference (or her bath scene. Why did she have to be in the bath?). There was a PI on the case already.

The food challenges were great but there should have been more of them. I didn't think I would ever be interested in whether or not an egg yolk broke.

The full circle was maybe satisfying but far too contrived for the purpose.

Ti West makes awful films that a lot of people inexplicably enjoy.

It's Ti West, and he sucks. His movies are like a snack that is made of a mildly palatable outer shell with nothing but air inside. In other words, mediocre style, zero substance. If you think Ti West is a good director and has a way with suspense, it's no wonder you didn't like Bitter Feast.
