Answer me this...

ftr although it was overlong with non-essential CGI slug fests I mostly enjoyed this big, dumb movie for what it was. Without Mamoa's goofball charisma I doubt it would have done as well as it did. He gets my vote as the go-to guy to play Snake Plissken in any EFNY remake.

But...

i. How could the Atlanteans know of Steppenwolf's failed attempt at world takeover, but not acknowledge that Superman and his super-friends -- who beat Steppenwolf remember -- would likely have been able to stop their attempted takeover/ destruction of the surface world?

ii. How deep was Atlantis?

Whales can dive a little over a mile deep -- about the depth of the deepest lake in the world. Yet there are grey and blue whales all around Atlantis. And orcas which can only dive about a 1000 feet.

Nuclear subs can only dive about 1000 feet... about three times their length. Yet, one attacks Atlantis. Aquaguy pushes one to the surface from much deeper depth as well.

iii. How strong/ durable is Aquaguy? He survives a freefall from a plane, jumps hundreds of feet off a cliff into water, but he catches himself from going over the edge of a three story Italian building? Are we supposed to be afraid for him at this point?

Strong enough to lift a submarine from the depths nearly out of the water, but can't beat Black Mantis with one good punch to the head? His skin is barely penetrable from laser blasts, but he's worried about getting skewered by his bro's trident?
