This looks...questionable...a little too fantastical, maybe. Is it?

An underwater city, with its own army and laser guns etc. It seems like its "Flash Gordon" level of sci-fi, a little heavy on the world building, if you know what I mean. I like a good fantasy...sci-fi is great, but when you've got people riding around on giant seahorses, talking underwater just as clearly as they were above water, it looks a little silly.

Is this the kind of over-the-top sci-fi that requires the kind of suspension of disbelief that can be difficult to pull off? Is there any point in this movie where you're able to get lost in it...to forget that you're watching a movie...that's actually a bunch of CGI and people waving around tridents in front of a green screen?

Not trying to knock it...just looks like maybe something for the youngsters, I guess.

It's very fantastical. Entire societies have been forged under the water, including that of the technologically-advanced Atlanteans.

I could understand if that's not for you. Personally, while I have mixed feelings about the movie overall, the fantasy elements were not one of my hang-ups.
