Entire scene LIFTED from Tron Legacy

In Tron, we see our hero in a live match in the arena, and when he is about to get his ass kicked, the female love interests turn up in her vehicle and rescues him, an guess what? They are chased!

In Aquaman, this scene has all the same twists and turns, and even has Tron like music, and Tron like aircraft (or sea craft).

I was surprised how much they copied.

With box office like this...does it really matter?

yeh to hell with the actual quality of the movie, who cares if its good or bad, lets just sit there with our dicks out waiting for the daily box office numbers........good lord , why do you pine for box office numbers, what does it prove?

reply

I'm happy they got their box office but I was really surprised how much this scene played like Tron.

I loved Tron Legacybut not a whole lot of people have seen it so this will go unnoticed..

I see Tron Legacy all over this movie, especially the villain and the digital design of the underworld. A lot of neon lights.

I actually picked up on some Tron similarities myself, both in some of the visuals and also in the soundtrack. Considering I really like TL and it seems that Disney's never going to give us a sequel, I did not consider these similarities a bad thing.

Tron Legacy is one of the most underrated films of all time, imho.

reply

It’s a shame the storyline was a little weak.

Might have used the exact same computer models. They do stuff like that to keep budgets down.

Tron looked better though.

reply

Nope. Tron looked awesome. Aquaman looked fantastic.

Less is often more.

Yes old trope. The hero gets his ass royally kicked by the main villain (not so in Tron) and is rescued by thr mentor or love interest. Only so he can beat the vilalin in the final fight. Old story.

I love Tron 1/2. But Aqua did it a lot better and effectively on a strorytelling level.
