Is this DC's comeback film?

Haven't seen any DC live action movies since the abysmal BvS and Suicide Squad. Is this worth checking out?

reply

Oh absolutely! This is a very entertaining and visually stunning, it's special effects are on par with Avatar... and Jason Momoa is fantastic as Aquman, it's got a nice amount of humor. It is a little long but every minute of it is entertaining.

I highly recommend this movie for anyone who is looking for a good time out at the movies.

Name a few movies you don't like. You know, just so we know your bias.

reply

Well a few of my favorite movies are The Green Mile, Death Sentence, the first two of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies, and of course Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, just to name a few.

reply

Oh my bad, I miss read that.
-All the X-MEN movies
-Batman & Robin
-The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise
-The Twilight franchise

Just to name a few.

reply

Is there a single Marvel movie that you like?
Do you think TDKR is good?

reply

She said she liked the Raimi Spidey films to be fair.

reply

Yeah I enjoyed the frist two of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies, and I absolutely loved the Dark Knight.

reply

thoughts on BvS and Justice League?

reply

OK, I see I have to be razor specific. Do you like any MCU movies? AND ... Do you like The Dark Knight RETURNS?

reply

That wasn't the question, was it?

reply

it's special effects are on par with Avatar.

^^^ more proof you seem to think this is a underwater master piece

please do research before making statetment like this....Please research just what kind of effect Avatar had on Motion Capture and Then if you still think Aquaman is on par well then Thats on you

it's got a nice amount of humor.

^^
good to see you quickly gave up on the absurdity of trying to claim Aquaman has as Serious Dark Knight tone....lol I have no clue why you even attempted that short lived Delusional thought...

but its nice to see your now fully accepting Aquaman has a LightHearted, Over the top, Humorous tone...just like the MCU films it copied..

I highly recommend this movie for anyone who is looking for a good time out at the movies.
^^^^
see was this so hard?

no more claiming the critics and Billbrown are wrong, claiming its Great and anyone who says other wise is wrong

here you simply gave your opinion and for once gave a very good representation of the quality of the film....

saying "you recommend this movie for anyone who is looking for a good time out at the movies." is extremely spot on for what the consensus of the movie is...

Before you were delusionally trying to exaggerate the quality of this film...Now you seem to have accepted it for what it is, A fun, Humor, over the top action movie...

I think you finally actually started reading the reviews and saw nearly all critics noted the movie has huge problem with the story, characters and dialog and its finally somewhat brought you back to reality(all the you still seem to be having problems with The level of Praise your giving to Its Underwater effects, lol comparing it to Avatar is quite the stretch, Avatar literally changed the way Motion Capture was shot...I highly doubt Aquaman is going to have the impact on Underwater effects that Avatar had with motion capture)

but overall...you seem to be going in the right direction...

lol still cant believe you tried to claim Aquaman had a serious Dark Knight tone? Im still waiting for any kinda of response back to explain how on earth you could possible say something so stupid?

the only thing I can think of is...you read some reviews and articles where they all noted Aquaman and DC copied The MCUs tone....and it made you so upset and Jealous you decided to trying to say it has a Serious Dark Knight tone to make yourself feel better....

Literally one of the most astonishing statements I've ever heard in my 8 years of being a regular on these boards...

to your credit though....you immediately disappeared and have avoided that post like the plague since saying it....

It is by far the best of the DCEU movies.

Because there's no Zack Snyder.

That being said, it's good. FAR from great....but good. It's not the offense to the senses the rest of the DCEU (except for Wonder Woman) have been.

See it at a matinee.

reply

Wonder Woman is easily the best of the DCEU movies, as far as I see it.

Aquaman was fun, but it has some issues.

reply

Wonder Woman is excellent except for a fairly typical ending. I may end up agreeing with you once there’s some me distance between myself and my Aquaman viewing.

reply

I'll agree that the first half of Wonder Woman is substantially better than the second half. It's a shame the film couldn't carry its momentum all the way to the end.

I still think that, as a whole, it's a better made film than Aquaman.

reply

Comeback, lol, missed some of the greatest DC films. But yes:

Best action movie of the year.

It's outstanding in terms of
- action pieces (the amazing deep-dive, roof hunt and final battle in particular),
- world building & lore (the 7 kingdoms are realized in very imaginative ways),
- art design & score

Best 3D IMAX experience I had in a long time.

reply

Infinity War still beats it all over the place.

reply

Lol, "I'll shoot that ball-sack of a chin right out of your face"!!! Infinity Bore is good enough if you're a MCU fanboy or a child as a big event film like Transformers. But as a movie screenplay it's a mess: its like 4 separate TV episodes stringed together. The leads of each episode disappear for 30 minutes etc, like a TV show were you break up the ensemble.

And then they play Phantome Menace as final battle, all with tribal warriors on grassland under an energy shield, with hand-shields and big CGI rides...outch time, where was Jar Jar…? Also, I do not remember memorable music or world building. But the raccoon did not talk of his turds at least...that's mature enough for MCU. Cheers.

PS: Variety calls InfWar one of the worst of 2018 (;

reply

Yeah, it’s worth a watch. Wonder Woman was also good.

reply

It’s not particularly good, but it’s entertaining if you’re into non-stop special effects films.

reply

Definitely worth checking out. Aquaman is fun, entertaining, and an above average superhero movie. I rate it 8/10.
