Lunch Monkeys + Workaholics

Started watching Lunch Monkeys on Netflix because it looked similar to Workaholics on Comedy Central. Its not as outrageous and drug heavy, but the slacker heavy work environment and all around silliness is similar. Even the title is (possibly) referenced in Workaholics a couple times by calling the drinking of lunchtime "40s", Lunch Monkeys.
Has anyone ever heard that Workaholics was loosely based on this show or are the similarities a coincidence?
