Tanya: 'He's just not the type of guy I see myself with.' Um, what?

This is what Tanya (the woman with curves) said last night about the really nice and fairly attractive Italian man after she left him waiting for her on the balcony.

Excuse me? What is all of this BS about "he/she is not my type"? What does that even mean? It seemed even more irrelevant since she seemed to really connect with him when she couldn't see his receding hairline.

Tanya,
So because he didn't look exactly the way you wanted him to, that completely erased all of the chemistry you had with him? This is why you are thirty-something and single. You hoped that he wouldn't be judgmental about your weight, and while he struggled with it since you weren't his "type" either, he still decided to give it a shot and came out looking like a sensitive gentleman while you looked like a judgmental @$$. Good luck finding anyone. You seem to turn the good ones down.

I'll tell you in another life, when we are both cats.

lol i think she said something like he was too serious looking??? like what? oh and the scarf, like who the hell cares about a scarf? umm he looked good from my angle, what drug was she on? LOL ah well, maybe she was just intimidated by the situation whether she was self conscious or afraid that there was a shot of an actual relationship working outside of this experiment. who knows. but i think she made a mistake because they really had a strong connection, but it's not like the guy will have trouble at all getting girls. Tanya on the other hand is attractive even though she's bigger. She's beautiful and classy but you can tell she's insecure about herself and insecurity is a big turn off, so she needs to work on that.

I think this show shows how people can be superficial about looks.
I think the guy was real cool when he when on the balcony, to get her a shot. But I felt bad when he saw her walk out the door, with her suitcase.

mmm....padded walls....so soft...

I felt so bad for her, I think she missed out on a good guy.
She got over all the condoms in his car, but couldn't over look his "serious" scarf style. Whatever.

I agree with the other poster, I think she was intimidated by her weight and thought this would save her from embarrassment.

I think the earlier poster, Felix, may be right. She may have walked out and given excuses because she thought he wouldn't show up on the balcony.

I kinda understood what she meant by that...If I saw that guy on the street, I would think he's really metro and probably cares too much about his looks, and has a greasy European look to him. That's just what I get from him lookswise...how that would've compared to all the other stuff she knew about him, IDK. But I can imagine being in that situation where you meet someone and you build up expectations of what they're like based on the personality and then the face doesn't match up. If a guy is "cute"/boyish looking he could probably get away with a lot of behavior that would seem creepy from a swarthier looking guy, for instance. Looks matter, and I guess I can't really expect a week of dating in the dark to get rid of that.
