Was The Song "This Is It" Eligible For An Oscar Nomination?

What was nominated for best original song for the 82nd Academy Awards:

"The Weary Kind" from Crazy Heart – Ryan Bingham and T-Bone Burnett

"Almost There" from The Princess and the Frog – Randy Newman

"Down in New Orleans" from The Princess and the Frog – Randy Newman

"Loin de Paname" from Paris 36 – Reinhardt Wagner and Frank Thomas

"Take it All" from Nine – Maury Yeston

The first song on the list (The Weary Kind) won the Oscar. I would have thought "This Is It" would have been a sentimental favourite for a nomination, if not a win. And a deserving selection as well, as good as the other five combined, in my opinion. So...does anyone know if this song was eligible for nomination or not?

I think it was ineligible because it was technically written around the time he was making Thriller. If I remember correctly, the song was written and he sang a full version of it but they never really finished the music.
