Luke's dad and mom--your opinions?

He's not rude or a jerk, but he has something...I can't put my finger on it.
The same irksome quality that makes me dislike Luke.

I hate how he thinks he knows all about the girls, especially Malissa, from a few hours of eating and meeting them on their best behavior.

MOM: Wow, that was odd, watching the girls almost competing for her approval. It was very uncomfortable. I hope mom sees through fakeness. I have always been supporting Malissa but even I thought she was sucking up with the earrings and cooking crap.

I quite liked Luke's mom. She seemed like a person who can look through people and see what is real and fake. I was not surprised at how she reacted to Malissa, because I would have reacted the same way. Being fake to get someone to like you is not a good thing. I could actually see Tali and Luke's mom hanging out and becoming close friends, because they seem to have similar personalities.

Luke's Dad..... not a fan.

reply

His father was enamored with Malissa as soon as she agreed to have a beer with him. He seems like the type that would try to come on to her after he had a few too many drinks.

Move along! There's nothing to see here.

Hated Luke's dad and his blatant favoritism towards Malissa. He was nothing but nice towards her, but gave Tali a really hard time (geeze, how many religion-based questions are you going to ask, buddy?). And what did he have to go on to decide that Malissa was the better pick? Is he a bigot when it comes to religion, or is he just a sucker for blonde hair and big knockers? I thought he was extremely unfair.

The Dad... hmmm seems like trouble to me... possible bigoted booze bag there.

The Mom... wow, I can see why they ended up divorced for sure, seems very in control of herself and intelligent.

reply

Didn't like the dad very much as a dad figure. He seems like the kind of guy you'd like to hang out with but as a father not so much.

Mom was great. I really liked her she seemed strong confident and really had an idea of what was best for Luke. Plus she was pretty hot.

reply

They are both great people and I love them very much. In all fairness everybody has their own idiosyncrasies and the producers only show you what they want to show you. I know Luke made the right choice. He's a great guy and I'm very happy to have known him my whole life.

reply

Who are you, Luke's brother?
And if you are legitimate, how are Luke and Tali doing?
I don't know how long it's been since they stopped filming and I doubt they will be followed by media like Bachelor couples.

I'm actually his cousin and about three months older than Luke. We grew up together and went to school together for sometime. He has not told me any news about how Tali and him are doing. I went to Santa Maria about two weeks ago to visit all of them and had an awesome time. He was not able to share anything about the show since it was still airing.

Show's over--spill!

I liked Luke's mom a lot. Well put together, intelligent, nothing like the dad came across as, it's no wonder they got divorced.

The dad came off as very close-minded. Didn't like him at all.

Anyone else think mom looks like Diane Keaton?

reply

Luke's mom reminded me of Diane Keaton in "Somethings Gotto Give."

Heaven was missing an angel, and now I am missing you. I love you Michael!

reply

LOL hisx, I was thinking the same thing and was going to mention it here. She DOES remind you of Diane Keaton .

And while the consensus is she's pretty cool but Lukes dad was a jerk, I give him a little more credit too. He was VERY respectful of Tali and who she was, but like Luke said, he's a devout Christian and as far as I know this can be an issue for them. I'm sure, if Talis uncle was anything to go on, Luke met her parents they probably wouldve asked the same questions and have the same concerns, but it doesnt mean they like Luke any less as a person though. And for the record, I'm an athiest, so stuff like this is probably why I can never get into religion in the first place . But I still understand the issues and why they are important.

I do think he jumped on the Malissa band wagon a little too fast. I think he simply saw Malissa easily fitting in the family and zero problems culture wise, but he didnt seem (BASED on the editing) to take into consideration how compatible her and Luke are as a couple. For that matter, he probably ruled Tali out based on her religion alone even if Luke was crazy about her. He should be a little more open minded, but I have a feeling if they really stay together he would at least try to be open about it. He didnt come acrss as an A-hole or anything.

Your tombstone won't read: Had great taste in movies & tv shows. No one cares!!

I didn't like Luke's dad at all. He went way overboard on the religion questioning with Tali.

As soon as I saw Luke's mom I said, "She looks like Diane Keaton!" She seemed really intimidating though like she's all business all the time.

reply

When I saw that first clip of Luke's mom at the girls' door, my first thought was: "Why is Diane Keaton visiting the girls?" lol She had the hair and clothes down pat.

The father was a jerk, he came off as very narrow minded. Luke's mother was TERRIFIC ... I can see why they aren't together anymore.

Luke's mom was kind of a bitch. Just kind of cold and distant from both of the girls.

Well turn it up man!!
