book?

Hi guys!

I didn't get to see season one (I'm a student without a TV so I miss a lot!) But I'm loving season two!

Just wanted to know if anyone is aware of this series being based on a book? Or if there are any good books out there about William Garrow? Fiction or Non-fiction, either way. My mum is really into the show and wants to know more about him, and she loves history and historial fiction, so thought it might be a good christmas gift!

Any recommendations helpful!

There is a book, by John Hostettler and Richard Braby.
I'm afraid this book is a bit dry...and the facts were changed by the authors of the TV-series for dramatical purposes.

There is a favourable Youtube review of the above book on this website:

If you can't be a good example -- then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

I will try to read the book(s) when I can.
In the mean time, I really want to say I like this TV series every much.
From the Cast section:

Writing credits:
Tony Marchant ... (creator) (8 episodes, 2009-2011)
Damian Wayling ... (3 episodes, 2009-2011)
Stephen Russell ... (1 episode, 2009)
David Harsent ... (1 episode, 2011)
Kevin Hood ... (1 episode, 2011)

Whoever wrote the lawyers' arguments, be it from the books or from the series' writers, they did a really great job.
I remember one of the lines was (not verbatim): All we heard was some Tom told some Dick something about some Harry.

Great series!

Actually much of the speeches at the court were taken from the online-transcripts of the Old Bailey online.
The legal advisor wrote a blog at the time:

And the writer Tony Marchant gave some information:
