Japanese language equivalent for the words "Target Scope".
Each time Kodai used the Wave Gun control he would exclaim...
"Target-ta Sco-pah Open!" mixed in with his Japanese.
I seriously lol'd.

There are many words that have no Japanese equivalent.
Just as there are many words and concepts in other languages that have no English equivalent. That is the nature of different languages and cultures. Just like English does (and other languages do) Japanese borrows words for other languages to fill in for words and concepts that don't exist in native Japanese.

They use various Japanese terms for "target" (which, incidentally, has Chinese roots) in their various bridge conversations whenever they are discussing targets/markers/destinations/etc..
"Tar-get-to Si-co-pu" is a phonetic loan word in Japanese specifically referring to the Target Scope that was used- just like "tea/teh/chai/cha/etc" is a phonetic loan word (from southern China, tea/teh, and from northern China, chai/cha) in many languages for "boiled leaves in water"...
You might think all cultures/civilizations would have already had their own terms for "water flavored with vegetation" and simply use THOSE terms to name imported teas-- but linguistic transmission/influence is funny/interesting that way...
