OK one last time

The ending of this movie actually made me cry. To see a couple who are actually best friends mutually destroy their relationship was tragic. I can be left to guess the actual ending of any other type of movie but not where a relationship is involved. I need to be shown and told. So, I gather she had sex and he didn't, BUT DID THEIR RELATIONSHIP SURVIVE??????? She of all people certainly didn't seem to think so. Maybe she finally got what she wanted. Somebody please tell me.
