Mark was more like her dad and really stiff.
I usually love me some Mark Darcy because he's always been contrasted against Daniel Cleaver. However, Jack made me doubt Mark is the best choice. Jack would've been great for Bridget, but it's like she told him that love is like going home or something to that effect. Mark is her home.
Now, if the script had revealed Jack to be a narcissistic player like Daniel, then it would be a different story. That would've been too obvious that they were just filling Hugh Grant's shoes.
