Guyver? No. Guyver design is completely different and it is about bio boosted (alive) armors.
The design of the suit here is a mix of Tron Legacy and the japanese anime Hurricane Polymar.
I count 4 people here, including me, who immediately thought of Guyver upon seeing this movie's trailer or otherwise hearing about it.
Not sure what the design of the suit has to do with anything.
Pretty sure it's based on it, and there's no shame in that.
i was thinking the same thing, but in guyver he landed face first on the alien tech.
shareo, and also the jump off the cliff and land as guyver was the coolest scene in the guyver sequel
shareyesssssssssssssssssssssssss that's almost exactly what i've said
shareI thought the same thing.
btw hollywood should reboot The Guyver 👍
Not sure Hollywood should have anything to do with a reboot of Guyver, it would end up being terrible. Sure there are studios outside of Hollywood that could handle it better.
shareI would love to see an updated version of Guyver.... But I wild agree that maybe Hollywood shouldn't have a hand in it. They'd just get Michael Bay to blow up a bunch of sh!t....
shareMax Steel is a line of G.I. Joe-like action figures from Mattel.
There have been TV series based on the characters, series reboots, and now a feature film.
Pretty flimsy excuse for YASHF (Yet Another Super Hero Franchise.)
But really. It doesn't matter who or what the superhero is.
It's all about this:
"When teenage Max McGrath discovers his body can generate the universe's most powerful energy ..."
Yup. It happens to all of us. Testosterone for males. Estrogen for females.
The superhero origin story is always a melodramatic variation of the coming-of-age story.
Your growth rate spikes, your hormones kick in, and you need to learn how to handle it all. Fast.
We can all relate to superheroes because we all had to deal with puberty.
It's a universal story.
You know how boxing and wrestling and certain other sports have weight divisions?
Well I feel like the Guyver and ULTRAMAN were very similar characters but just like with the "weight division" analogy Ultraman took on giant monsters in his size range and the Guyver took on more human sized monsters, he felt like a way way smaller version of Ultraman.
