Kudos for having something to say

I thought this was an interesting movie. The producers could have just done the standard campy syfy channel route but they actually went to the effort to use a script that touched on issues of faith, religion, discrimination, and the bridge between the Christian and Muslim worlds. The special effect were obviously restrained by the low budget but all in all I thought this was a great effort with unique actors and plot.

I agree with everything you said about "Dark Relic," and would only add that I found the acting to be excellent, especially that of James Frain.

As for the something to say, it's been said way too much, for way too long. Until movie makers get the guts to take on Islam in a grown up, big boy fashion, they've got no business taking on or commenting on Christianity in any way shape or form, positive or negative. The main religious discrimination most of these people need to deal with resides within themselves. I swear most of them think Christianity is a TV preacher. How many of them can honestly say they've actually read or heard the words of Christ himself? If you don't know what the man said, what he taught, you don't know what Christianity is. And we all know why they don't take on the Muslims in any sort of negative way. Because they're afraid. Thus, if you haven't got the nads to address the one on terms that can't best be described as pandering and groveling, you haven't got the credibility to address the other. In short, leave Christianity alone.

And anti-Muslim film would bomb.

I agree with the OP. THis is more mature and intelligent than the usual ScythFye afternoon screaming monster movie; of course that is not a very high hurdle to clear.

Well I was nice last year, this movie's dialogue is banal and anachronistic. Not one character convinced me he wasn't time warped in from the 21st century.

This has most definitely the best acting and story I have EVER seen on a SyFy Original Movie, or Series, for that matter. I just wish that they had not used the entire budget to cast James Frain, albeit an excellent choice ( for most costumes are horrible [ you can see the cross "painted" messily on the tunic of the first Knight killed by the creature ] and, yes, I think I have seen better visual effects on Student Films ). All in all, I made it through the whole movie, which is something I cannot say for nearly all SyFy films, and enjoyed the tale upon which I traversed with the characters . . . worth the watch.
