Really? Nobody Has Said Anything About...

.........Her hair!!! Not only does it look greasy but it also has weird creases all over... From extensions maybe? I cant believe nobody has noticed how gross it looks.

reply

I was too distracted by her horrible makeup and poorly done eyebrows.

reply

She looked awful period. Too bad she had to look this way in her last film. I always thought she was so adorable.

reply

I agree! "Abandoned" is exactly what I did after 15 minutes, I just couldn't look at that living troll-doll anymore!

I'm trying to watch it now, but keep jumping to the internet every 5 minute. For the bad makeup, the often shaky camera, the unoriginal storyline, the coked out nervous twitches on everyone's faces... poorly executed.

reply

Good hell people, stop being so judgemental. This film wasn't perfect but show some respect for the late B. Murphy. Her health obviously wasn't the best while she was filming this, but it's one of her last performances and she did great, as always. I'm glad I bought it. RIP Britt.<3

What's a Bogey Lowenstein?

reply

The film wasn't perfect? That is an understatement. Brittany looked better in Freeway where she was made up to look bad. It was hard to watch.

reply

Wow really?...does anyone remember how sick Brittany was before she passed away. This was one of the last films she did before she died. Look at "Deadline" too. She was not well. The straw like hair and eyebrows was due to poor health. Comments like "Troll doll" make me sick. I looked passed her appearance and saw that even under poor health she still gave a splendid performance.

reply

Thanks for that perspective. I didn't think of that. I also thought her hair looked oddly bad, especially on the first day - in movie time. I also thought they made her lips way too big. Her lips are big enough without drawing over them and it looked odd.

She did do a great job and the cop wasn't bad, either, but the rest of the acting was not that great.

reply

The cop did the only good job of acting. I have a suspicion that the hospital workers were real workers and not actors.

reply

OMG......her lips with that horrid shade of lipstick. Her "greasy" hair. Her faraway stares. I was shocked. I loved her so much and she was just starting to become "somebody" with her career. It's a tragic loss, but to leave this movie as her legacy......pretty bad.

reply

"They" didn't make her lips too big. SHE did. With surgery. That and the badly made up dead eyes. She needed a good agent that could control her.

reply

yeah, she was sick but that is what professional make up artists are for.

back in the 1970;s and 80's Wendy Richard of Are You Being Served? fame was in an abusive marriage and she needed a hair stylists that could disguise the clumps of hair ripped out and a make up artist good at disguising black eyes.

if they can do that and no one could be the wiser back then, then they could make Brittany murphy less slovenly in this.

and I am convinced her husband killed her.

OH THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU SO BLOODY MUCH!!! Basil Fawlty

reply

I just heard on a tabloid news show this monring that Simon Monjack is credited with doing her hair and make up in this film. Honest! I havent researched it but if its true-very weird!

Update: I did find a few articles confirming that he was her hair/makeup guy. One is from the Huffington Post.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but have heard lots of talk about her hair/makeup. Not so much about the movie. Gonna try to catch it this weekend.

reply

It looks like she had it in a ponytail and didn't wash it for a week. That and they must have hired a make-up artist off the corner, because she looked like a train wreck.

I also thought it was weird that most of the summaries of the movie say she lost her husband... but it was her boyfriend in the movie. I gave up after about 15 minutes, her looks were too distracting.

reply

She looked bad in this movie but her performance was good. The movie wasn't THAT bad either. 6/10. Mimi Rogers turned in a solid supporting performance too.

reply

i agree. brittany murphy looked very tired in this movie..but during the scenes toward the end, when her hair was over her ears, i thought she looked like alright. idk maybe they chose to purposely make her look "sick" because i have a feeling all thru the movie we were supposed to think she may be crazy, as well, idk. just so sad one of her last roles won't be remembered as one of her best :/
