i love the fact that it seems like 90% of people hate this.
makes me love it more. from mentalfloss.com:
The box office success of Wayne’s World spawned eight more skits-turned-features over the next eight years, beginning with Wayne’s World 2 in 1993, which proved to be a bit of a box office disappointment. Coneheads (1993), It’s Pat: The Movie (1994), Stuart Saves His Family (1995), A Night at the Roxbury (1998), Blues Brothers 2000 (1998), Superstar (1999), and The Ladies Man (2000) followed. In 2010, SNL tried the movie thing again with MacGruber, which failed to earn back enough to cover its modest $10 million budget.haha macgruber is quite possibly the ONLY funny movie to come from an snl sketch, maybe with the exception of 'wayne's world.' (i don't count 'blues brothers' (1980) a classic that is in a category all its own)
they used to have a name for it: 'the trilogy' which most likely centered around 'night at the roxbury' 'superstar' & 'ladies man', but basically pick any three saturday night live movies & scoff at what a comedic deficit we were in at the time.
macgruber is WAAAAYY funnier than wayne's world. didn't make a dime. if it came to theaters again i would gladly pay $10 for a ticket.
just for the record i liked 'ladies man' & 'superstar' just fine. "boy, you just ate a piece of sh!t"
i didn't see 'coneheads' 'night at the roxbury' or 'stuart saves his family' but i imagine pretty much the same amount of jokes.
