Seriously what is wrong with these people?

How many times must they get bitch slapped before they will worry about security? Security should be next on the list after food and water, especially when you keep getting hit like they do. I feel like last season,s cast did a great job with establishing a perimeter among other things and overall, took it a lot more seriously.

This season's cast seems to have the mentality, Oh they won't really hurt us because this isnt real, which is true but come on. It just seemed like they believed their situation more last season. Casting was just bad this year. Most of them don't even put their skill sets to good use and a model? Huh?

I think she still has to make up for the kidnapping and relinqueshing of ALL the stuff they gave up for her return. Thats where the dislike is stemming from. Until she puts a project on the board and makes something that helps out she's still dead weight, sorry.

My comments may have came off as a bit harsh but I personally don't "dislike" her, nor do I have anything against her. The point I was trying to make is that for this kind of show, IMO everyone should have a certain technical skill set that the others dont have and "model" just isnt helpful in this situation. Considering the things you mentioned, she has done her part, but those are also things that anyone could do.

...........I would say after a member got "kidnapped" it is time to look for a baseball bat, or something better, and delegate security. Also am I the only one thinks Beka is way to obsessed with her makeup.

She's not entirely useless, but she does come across and vain and shallow with regard to her obsession with her physical appearance. No one else is worried about washing their hair and putting on make up.

I agree that this second group is much more lax than the first group was. This show probably won't last more than one more season because it will be regarded more as entertainment than a controlled experiment.

I don't blame her at all for washing her hair. The only time they show her really doing it was after the pig truck and after that she needed to. If not that smell would still be in her hair and probably making her sick.

You can tell though that shes does more off camera just by the what the others say sometimes. I really didnt dislike her until her reaction to what happened in the latest episode "The Virus." Dont want to spoil it for anyone but those who have watched it should know what Im talking about. Not only was she kind of a "insert insult here", but it even further showed how seriously she is taking this show because that would not have been her reaction if these were real circumstances.

My problem is that security isn't something they have simply not worked on so far (I've finished watching half the season).

I just don't get why the windmill and energy is so important. They should have kept the rain water for drinking and used fire for cooking.

Reno has proven to be a better man than I am, or perhaps they are on contractual agreement to not seriously hurt other cast members. In the episode of the virus, when she makes fun of the escape boat while Reno is affixing the chain link fence to it, I would have punched her straight in the face.

the anatomist was on nightwatch & he just "got too tired" & lay down in his cot & fell asleep & predictably.....obviously security is as important as food & water, without it you end up with zero food & water

Watching season 2 right now. OMIGOD THESE PEOPLE ARE SO STUPID. I can't get over how silly and short-sighted the entire cast is.

It's like, if we were down to only a few days' supply of food, I would have everyone out there foraging every day until we either learned how to hunt or figured out some sort of food supply. But these guys are just out there, chowing down on their dwindling supplies, doing stupid *beep* like building a shower or smoker rather than figure out how the hell we're supposed to survive 10 weeks.

Speaking of the smoker, Reno built a smoker out of WOOD, for food they don't have and have no idea how to acquire, and then gets upset when their wood smoker burns down.

And they keep on getting attacked, but nobody ever thinks of doing a buddy system or setting up a watch? Colony 1 set up a night watch from day one.

The smoker being made out of wood isn't that inconceivable as long as the wood is kept wet. It is a LONG term food storage idea had they figured out how to acquire food. If it hadn't burned down think how smart it would have been to have AFTER they caught the gator and nutria.

The lack of security is idiotic. With all the abandoned buildings they have at their disposal, I would have at the very least made a trash pile fence around my perimeter.

Pain is merely the weakness leaving the body!

The security thing really amazed me.

First, any idiot should realize you need a 24 hour watch; during the day from the roof, and at night, a "floor watch" in the building. But when they finally tried it, they gave the whole night to TWO GUYS! You have 8 people; give four people two hours a night, every other day, and you get a much better watch and plenty of rest for everyone. It's not hard. You even have a "checklist" of things to do, like checking the windows and doors, etc. Amazing that they didn't get over-run the first week.
