One of the worst ive seen

Just watched this and i have to say it ranks way up there with the worst ive seen. It ripped off every film from Funny Games, Panic Room, any home invasion film. It was dull and predictable.

The acting was horrid, the camera work a mess and the story dire

And people wonder why the british film industry is in such a mess

Of all the home invasion films I've seen, this ranks as the worst by far. Craig who posted above echoes my sentiments precisely. I knew the film was off to a horrid start when I was watching water boil for a good 3 minutes. Then we get to listen to these thugs drone on about this and that, all of it bloody pointless. I was bored senseless. And then the movie ends abruptly in the most ridiculous place to edit a film. If anyone associated with this film, whether it be the writer, producer of director reads this...I beg of you. Stop making movies!

reply

Absolutely despicable film making. Middle class wannabe gangster porn!

I agree. I genuinely would call this one of the worst movies I've ever sat through.

I've never walked out of a movie in my life but I reckon if I'd saw this in a cinema I would have.

In addition to all the other flaws mentioned regarding this movie, I'm going to add one more. I had a very difficult time deciphering the dialogue and eventually became resigned to the fact that it really didn't matter what was being said.

reply

The only way to make it through it is to watch it with sub-titles. Movie still sucked, though.

reply

I didn't have any problem understanding what they were saying. Still one of the worst I've ever sat through though.

reply

If you have trouble with British accents, you should use subtitles. That's not an issue with the movie.

Your simple-minded opinion is definitely threadworthy. What a great, original thread, really.

I think there was more to the movie than met the eye. I think they were trying to make a social commentary about senseless violence and its corrupting effects, especially on youth. I think they were also trying to show how no one is immune from the effects of violence. No matter what your class, race or socioeconomic status may be, no one is safe from being victimized. That is exactly what happened to the family in this film. It was senseless and pointless.

The movie is MEANT to come across as a pointless film. That is the point. It was all so unnecessary and pointless, that it is supposed to make you angry. The ending is open ended and classic. What will the father do with the innocent child now that his own child has been killed? Will he avenge his son's death? Has he been corrupted by the violence he has personally witnessed or can he contain his anger?

What would you do in his shoes? That is the question you have to ask yourself at the end of this movie.

Good post. Me, I think he let the kid go. He wasn't too far gone to go on a mindless killing spree. :P

For real.

The British simply can't make good films. Or music. Or any type of entertainment.

I can say that coz I'm British. 
