Is this supposed to be a religious film?

You know how sometimes strangers come over and we find out they're related to your dad?

Lol, no that was my signature. It was from another tv show. Basically my subject was all I needed to know so I didn't put anything in the body text.

Sheila, you should put away your anger and Debbie, you should put away your stupid.

Yes, I did not even know that when I went to see the movie.

The movie was fantastic!

When I was a kid, many decades ago, there were a lot of movies like this available. They weren't meant to convert anyone at that time but there were certainly a lot more practicing Catholics than there are now.

I really liked this movie.

It is a great family film. The theme and its message delivery was done in such a way as to not limit the viewers to religious or Christian. I recall a few long running popular TV shows like Touched by an Angel, 7th Heaven, etc. Is the exorcist a religious movie? Not a family movie, but full of church goers, priests, and church and bible references and practices. The very popular TV show "Bones" has its two lead characters with opposing positions on the topic with the FBI agent (Booth) visiting church and praying at critical moments in his life, while the Forensic anthropologist doesn't believe. Odd, a precious moment was shared as "Bones" the unbeliever sits with "Booth" in church pew as he prays. She does this out of respect for him and his faith. Bottom line, most people understand that faith and spirituality is part of everyday life either for them or the person next to them in the grocery store line. I know many non-Christians who liked the movie because it did not assault their senses or morality and provided quality entertainment for multiple age groups to share.

This was a GREAT explanation of this movie and I read it twice.

I watch Bones so I know the characters and the show very well.

The other religious show that wasn't overtly religious was Joan of Arcadia.

Loved that show.

I'm sure all the Happy Clappers will love it.

Yes, it's about God giving you a second chance, and the alternate path is being a minister. But, the basic idea is not that religious. "It's A Wonderful Life" had an angel, after all, and could be seen as 'religious' on some level.

But, yeah, it has some religious messages that might turn some people off. Still, more Seventh Heaven than Left Behind.
