Why is this not a show on NatGeo????

I think there should be 6 or 8 of these little "re-education" centers setup all along the US-Mexico border that broadcast a weekly message to the people of Mexico directly to their television feeds that provides a graphic depiction of the dire consequences that one may encounter while attempting to enter the USA illegally, regardless of intent.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am always left feeling cheated and a bit depressed when I watch shows like "Border Wars," because the current legal enforcement offered by ICE and US Border Patrol seem so completely ineffective at addressing the issue of illegal immigration and smuggling that it is quite literally sickening. All of the shows that document the futile effort of the US border enforcement agencies even admit that they are just barely making a dent in the overall problem.

The real problem that no one wants to address is that the entire Mexican government has been corrupted from the top to the bottom...PERIOD... And yes... the US side has its fair share of greed and corruption to account for as well. However, the corruption in Mexico is systemic, and it reaches every pore in the fabric of their leadership and authority mechanism. Therefore, if the US wants to really address the problem, we must treat Mexico the same way we would treat Iran, Syria, N. Korea or any other rogue nation that openly sponsors corrupt practices and terrorism. YES... I SAID TERRORISM!! If you lived along the Texas border over the last 20 years and witnessed the outright destruction, death and despotism, then you would have no doubt that this is a accurate term for what is occurring here.

The government of Mexico needs to be harshly sanctioned, and the people there (and parts south) need to be sent a strong message that American tolerance has come to an end. Whether you realize it or not, we are in a de-facto state of war with a corrupt regime that is currently being allowed to undermine our political, legal, financial, medical and education system at the expense of every man, woman and child in the sovereign nation of the United States. If this were any other country in the world, we would already be dropping bombs on them! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

Don't you think it's a little more complicated than that? considering the proximity and the fact that Mexico/Mexican's are indigenous to this country.

I'm really trying to see your side, as I do not live near any borders, I'm trying to understand where you're coming from. I understand the corruption, it's frightening on both sides of the border. I don't know that bombing would help.

Empowerment seems like an option, if we help their economy thrive, there would not be a need to migrate in the numbers that we're experiencing. Ultimately everyone wants the same thing, quality of life.

On the same note as the above poster, don't you think the typical Mexican citizen would want to escape the corruption in their government. It seems you're more giving a reason from them to emigrate rather than trying to solve the problem realistically.
