Why would anyone make this movie?

Why would anyone even conceive of making this movie? I don't understand. Don't they have screenwriters in Spain? Was it absolutely impossible to come up with something that has even the faintest hint of originality? Doesn't spanish cinema have any quality control whatsoever?

Furthermore, where are they getting the money to produce this drivel? Hang on a second, spanish cinema is state subsidised, so that means the taxpayer foots the bill...... I'M PAYING FOR THIS RUBBISH!!!
