I Find It Hilarious That

if one were to look at the budget, it was around $1.5 million Euros to make and it only made like a few hundred grand. So if they made a sequel to this and I know they did; how are they not losing money on this? Or is the director and production companies so rich to invest in this that they do not mind throwing away money just to get a message across?
