Who was that girl...

The movie starts out with Karma getting her passport from Galina. After that, it goes back and forth between flashbacks and real time. One of those flashbacks is Karma talking to a pretty Russian girl about her age. The Russian girl gives Karma the things that was left in her sisters locker. She then hands Karma a newspaper clipping that shows an unidentified female dead in Toronto. The female is presumed to be Karma's sister, which is the motivation into her leaving Russia and going to Toronto. My question is: Who was the girl who gave Karma the newspaper clipping? You only see her once in that scene, and then she is gone forever. I watched the movie twice to see if she is seen anywhere else, but I did not see her. Was she a Russian cop? Or maybe a Social Worker of some kind?

For whatever reason, I had assumed that girl was Anna's roommate at some point. I don't think there was any evidence to this, but she knew Anna, knew something was wrong, and wasn't exactly on the legal side of things as she seemed to catch the drift of Karma's plans.

When in doubt, she was deux ex machina. :)

I have a question about a different girl. I'm still watching the movie, so I'll probably see her again, but I want to know the identity of the girl demonstrating the stripper pole about 11 minutes in. I find her stunningly attractive.

EDIT: I was right, she's in (at least) two other scenes in the movie, including the one this photo was taken from: http://www.myreviewer.com/DVD/134715/Sweet-Karma/134723/JPEG
