Basset Hounds are the best!!

He reminded me of the cartoon strip 'Fred Bassett'. He asked the vet for a suggestion on what to name him and I kept thinking "Call him Fred!"

I like when Columbo gives him a command and the dog just looks as if he's thinking, "If it's all the same to you, I'll just sit here and look adorable."

One of my favorites is a time when we don't even see him. Columbo is experimenting with using a hand-held tape recorder instead of his trusty pad and pencil. He hits a button, and we hear...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ye87ehi2Vk&t=211s

Thanks for reminding me. I'll have to watch that one tonight. I forgot that Jose Ferrer was in it. One of my favorite actors.

Remember his basset hound when Columbo took him along to speak to a dog trainer. Two dobermans had been trained by their owner to kill the man who had an affair with the guy's wife in "How to Dial a Murder".

Columbo asked if his dog could learn to be a guard dog when his wife was alone at night. After seeing his (lack of) movements, she suggested that his wife learn karate! lol

Remember the kill command? Rosebud. I have a doberman and I kept saying "rosebud" to her as she was stretched out on the bed. She never moved. She's a lot like Columbo's dog!
