Trust me. I did well in college statistics class. This is all very possible even if she [Jessica Fletcher] is not directly involved in the murders.

He's a homicide detective. He's only "on the scene" for one live murder that I recall, and that's the accidental 2nd death explosion in A Bird in the Hand.

The comment above was deleted, but it had to do with Jessica on Murder, She Wrote. Now there's a woman who needs to be investigated! Every week she had some connection to either the victim or the murderer. I've never had one such connection in my entire life, and it happened to her every flipping week.

Cabot Cove - The Murder Capital of the World. 2.5 murders for every 4 residents.

That is so funny! Sleepy little town in Maine. Oh yeah, pay no attention to the fact there's a murder every week! I've never checked the Murder, She Wrote board, but this has to have been mentioned over there!

At least Diagnosis Murder happened in LA, and Dick Van Dyke's son was a homicide detective, so not every victim/murderer was a personal friend like with Angela.
