I am not against the remake

Unlike others, I don't tie the Columbo character to one actor even though Peter Falk owned the role. Columbo character started in a play and was protrayed by other actors. Columbo is an iconic detective like Poirot or Sherlock Holmes and they too had been portrayed by several actors. Batman, James Bond and some other famous characters are portrayed by more than one actor.
