I hope if they ever reboot it that the Charactor is Columbo's son.

I would be fine with a Daughter too, but not during the woke age.

Sample of Columbo's daughter solving the case.

"How did you know it was me?"
"Simple you're a man, a white man, so I knew you murdered them."

I agree with you 100%.

I think that a son would work. There was never any concrete evidence that he did have a son in the Peter Falk series. All talk of family was like Columbo himself. All a bit misty.

I think that Johnny Whitworth would make a good Columbo son. He was Berkely in some of the CSI: Miami series. He's not unlike Peter Falk to look at. Also he would be the right age for a Columbo reincarnation right now. He's in his mid 40s.

Didnt they try this with Mrs Columbo, and what a big flop it was

Mrs. Columbo was not only a terrible idea to begin with, the execution of it was absolutely awful. They cast Kate Mulgrew who was almost 30 years younger than Peter Falk. Hardly what anyone would've conjured in their mind when picturing the "Mrs. Columbo" he was always referring to. Then they had the character become a divorcee further destroying the image fans wanted for the lovable detective. Fortunately I believe the show is considered non-canon for Columbo's legacy.

Probably a nephew actually.
He had about 500 of them!
