Best example of Columbo owning a suspect

"I dug this bullet out of that wall three hours before you said that someone fired it at you three minutes ago." -- Columbo to Nelson Hayward in "Candidate For A Crime."

That one was so good!

He "owned" every suspect when you think about it.

He always irritated almost each suspect. Most of them felt that he was foolish and never quite as smart as they were.....
He was always the smartest guy in the room!

I would say that one of the exceptions is the episode with Janet Leigh.....
Sorry. I can remember most of the names of the episodes but this one escapes me at this moment....

I can't remember the name of that episode!
SPOILER!!!!!

She didn't remember killing her husband!
Wouldn't you know! She didn't remember killing her husband!

"Forgotten Lady." That was one of his cases where Columbo felt bad for his quarry.

Thank you!
Yes, I loved that one so much.
I enjoy just about each one of the episodes.
Peter Falk was so great.

A Deadly State of Mind : ".....the blind man saw it all. " I just intuitively knew that was going to trip up the perpetrator.

Etude in Black. Columbo goes round to the murderer's house, apropos of nothing incriminating, and begins blatantly shaking them down for info on their financial position and then getting a makeshift polygraph out of them by way of a nervously scribbled signature.
