Best Martial Arts I've seen in a while

The Knife fight with that guy in the arena... very very very compelling. The movie sucked, but that's why we invented ffwd buttons :D

I agree, great action scenes, terrible story lol, man the characters are just very unengaging even more-so then usual.

Yeah - this is one of the most extreme cases I've seen of an HK kung fu flick with great action and a terrible storyline. It went beyond this though - the storyline not only wasn't good, it was poorly structured too (except for the regular placement of action).

Action set pieces somewhat save the film. I was also amused by the ending.

not only the story sucked but why in the hell were they wearing clothes from the 80's and 90's.

Great martial arts sequences.

I thought people watched Hong Kong movies for action scenes, so what's the problem ? A lot of HK movies has bad soties and great fight scenes, what's new here ?

reply

Maybe you do. I have been watching Hong Kong movies for over 20 years & this movie & Godfrey Ho movies don't cut it. Correct me if i'm wrong, but you don't watch a lot of Hong Kong movies?

This film's fight scenes were truly great---nice throwback to old-school kung-fu film fights with only a little touch of CGI (best I've seen in an HK film in a while) and the story approached the whole triad angle from a different aspect for a change (seen more than enough HK gangster flicks, so I know.)
