I might have missed it but what is the motive of Juliette's father of wanting to break the relationship Juliette was having with the rich Brit? Why was the father so eager like hiring pros and preparing a runaway car for her on her wedding?
sharerontant, I'm wondering this too. If it was just because Jonathan would bore her, then shame on dad. I kept expecting a shoe to drop to explain, but it didn't.
This makes the ending less than ideal for me.
I thought it was because he could tell that the relationship wasn't right. Like everything looked right but she wasn't herself and there wasn't that spark and she wasn't happy in the way you would want and expect your daughter to be happy as she approached 'the happiest day of her life. She wasn't bland but she was bland with him. So in spite of everything her dad got wrong, he got that right.
