Typo at beginning

I almost didn't watch this movie because of the blatant typo at the beginning:

"In the fall of 2005, six strangers became forever linked throught a series of horrifying events that the police later referred to as "The Trials".


They spent a lot of time and money on this movie, but couldn't bother to proof the sentence that immediately followed the movie's title?
