The problem with the 'Cold Prey' movies

You don't care about the characters. Maybe someone better versed in dramatic device can explain why exactly. What I can tell you is that it just doesn't click. The characters aren't dislikable or anything. They're pretty normal northern European kids. It's not like the American slasher films populated by misandrist, filthy-mouthed bimbo whores, macho ghetto muds and wiggers. After all, Norway is still relatively unpolluted, despite the growing Arab rape epidemic. Anyway, as nice as they are, you just don't care about these characters. When they die, it's just a bodycount to make the movie go forward.

Movies were you really feel a pang when the character dies are "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" (the remake), the "Wrong Turn" movies and, as cliche as it has become, "Saw." Yeah, when you watch "Saw," it just twists you up inside how messed up these characters' plight is, they're not just pulp for the meat grinder.

The "Cold Prey" movies, on the other hand, just leave you cold, like you merely watched a successful slasher movie graduate project. Where's the emotion, the passion? Nothing makes you want to slam your fist on your coach and say, "No, damnit! I can't believe this!" You just don't care.

The problem with Cold Prey movies ....

was them making this third movie. The other two were excellent.

Totally agree! Part 3 left us wondering if we had been abducted by aliens during the viewing. It just didn't flow at all. We also considered we might just be zoning out because it was soooo boring. It picked up in the last 10 minutes, but really people just shouldn't watch this one.

Actually, the thing that sets the Cold Prey trilogy apart from any other slasher series is that we DO care about the characters.
