Unbelievably stupid of them not to cast Nathan Fillion. That fan film posted on YouTube a couple of years ago proved he is great and perfect in the role.

shareYep, when I heard Holland was going to be in it, I expect they might use him as Drake's son... but apparently they decided to ignore the character as he was presented in all those video games. This is like making a Tomb Raider movie with a girl that doesn't have big tits...Oh wait they did that and the movie US box office gross was about a 1/3 of the gross for the one with big titties. Does Hollywood not understand that people that want to see a movie version of their favorite video game want it to be like the video game and not some revisionist crap.

My issue is, Nathan is only getting older and I rather they did the older Drake first to get the fan appeal before doing origin.
You'd only have to watch Venom Carnage to know they're good at destroying franchises.
Nathan Drake = Nathan Fillion
Victor Sullivan = Bruce Campbell
Elena Fisher = Emily Rose (the voice actor is perfect in this instance)
Had they done that an Uncharted film would have been guaranteed gold.
Directed by Joe Carnahan too. Apparently the script he wrote was for an R movie.

Nathan Fillion is 50 , he would too old to play young Drake which is supposed to be a teenager when he first met Sully.
I get they're going with a younger Drake. But could they had gone with someone taller at least?

Nathan Fillion is 50 and looks it. I love Firefly as much as the next guy, but that was a long time ago. I wouldn't build an action franchise around him at this point in his career.
Plus, isn't Drake like 30 in the first game? Holland is way closer to his age than Fillion is.
Yeah but Fillion -- at 50 -- looks more like Drake than Holland does (at however old Holland is supposed to be). Sounds like Holland has yet to graduate from puberty, and due to that I instantly "noped" out of the film.
If the box office tanks, then I can only imagine more people "noped" out than "yes'd" in.
