THE REASON WHY THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE USED THE ORIGINAL TRENT ACTOR
It might have been the way he looked disguised as a woman.Not awkward enough,awkward is more funny.Have you seen the previews,the new Trent looks very uncomfortable.
shareAnd the original Trent actor, Jascha Washington is nowhere near famous. He's just seen in bit roles though Big Momma's House 1 and Like Mike 2 were his biggest roles to date.
And Brandon T. Jackson is a B-list, close to A-list comedian/actor, who's pretty well known.
If you go to the movies, and cant decide what to see, your friend says "What should we see?" and you say "Big Mommas", they say who's in it, and you say "Martin Lawrence and Jascha Washington" your friend'll be like "Who the hell is Jascha Washington?"
BUT if you say "Martin Lawrence and Brandon T. Jackson", they'll say "cool, let's go"
And besides I cant picture Jascha Washington playing this version of Trent. He only had 2 brief/irrelevant scenes in Big Momma's House 2.

I think they picked Washington because they wanted two comedic lead roles in this. Jascha Washington was not funny at all in big mommas house 1 or 2

Jascha Washington was also in Big Momma's House 1 in more scenes.I looked on his IMDb page to see what else he had been in,the picture is still of him as a kid,either he hasn't updated it or he wants to be remembered as the kid in Big Momma's House.
I can understand not putting Jascha in this movie due to his fame status, but at the same time this was still HIS role that he's played twice already so he should have came back if he was available and willing to do it a third time. Perhaps him being in this movie would've help bring him up further in the acting business so if people were to go see another movie he's in they wouldn't have to question who he is. By not putting him in the movie, the producers pretty much robbed him of being more famous. He had a shot at another lead role here. He's only had one so far in Like Mike 2 and that was it. It's hard trying to get on top and it helps if the producers weren't too keen on always getting big named people and put some faith in some unknowns or lesser famous people doing well when they're in the spotlight.
