The only thing that dissapoints me about this game

I just can't help but feel like something's wrong in the game. Every Splinter Cell game has always given Sam the option of killing or knocking out his opponents. I wish that the team at Ubisoft could have given the players the option for using melee moves that knocked out opponents and stun guns.

Agreed, in general we just need more options - and a game design to support these options. It's like they just wanted to give players the option to do things they couldn't in the older games, but in the process forgot about the things that were already established.

Sam had that option because he was on a leash under Third Echelon. Now he doesn't have any superiors and doesn't give a crap as to who he kicks seven shades of shíte out of. Given the man still has morals - in the first mission he says he'd rather avoid a firefight with civilians around, and later on he does only knock out police officers at the Lincoln Memorial - but, y'know, he'd lost his daughter and best friend and had nothing left to live for really so why would he hold back?

this time around he's a predator and not an agent man. What is this *beep* tie business?

He'd lost his daughter in Double Agent already and still was able to do do his job as before. Sam Fisher is a pro. The fact that Sam Fisher is out for revenge is understandable but hugely out of character.

There are several videos and walkthroughs of people using pure stealth, which of course is hard to pull of because there are less stealthy gadgets to do so.

I agree with OP that the option for stealth as we are used too from previous games would have added so much more. It is so satisfying taking out enemies ninja style.

When I first played Conviction (I haven't played Double Agent because it was too buggy on the PC but I know the general story and what happens and I'm still playing Conviction actually, haven't finished it yet) I found it quite difficult to adjust to because I was always trying to stealth my way through levels but for me, the best way to play Conviction is a bit like CoD, you just bash your way through.

But I like this version of Sam. It reminds me of Jack Bauer in the last few "days" of 24, a bit of no hold barred and ruthlessness. I get the sense that he is willing to do anything and kill anyone to get his daughter back. As Victor Coste said during his interrogation after Sam destroys Third Echelon, he doesn't have any ties with his old life, the rules that were imposed on him by Third Echelon.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled off was convincing the world he doesn't exist.
