The biggest problem with the story...

Bad guys: Hey, the one dude who could possibly foil our plan is in another country and doesn't know *beep* all about our stupid plan, lets go shoot at him.

They could've got away with it if they hadn't have gone and blown their cover, bit stupid really, yeah we later learn Sarah is alive, but if that was the original premise it would've made more sense.
