Disney should release a Blu-Ray set with only the original trilogy

Throw the old fans a bone.

No one wants Crystal Skull and undoubtedly many won't want Dial either. The original trilogy has never been released as a box set on Blu-Ray, and you don't get all the special features if you buy them individually, so right now if you want all the films with all the special features you have to accept Crystal Skull coming into your home. If Disney would do a special release with just the original trilogy I have to think it would be a good idea.

The only alternative for true Indy fans is to buy a used set of the trilogy on DVD but then, you know, you have to settle for DVD quality.

It's a travesty that that dreck is being lumped in with the trilogy at all.

I agree. It's also a tragedy that Disney now has control of this property. If George was going to sell LucasFilm, I'd have rather him sell it to literally any other studio.

Everyone who collects physical is buying 4k discs now and you can buy each Indiana Jones movie individually. Problem solved!!

reply

Yes, but if you buy them individually you don't get all the special features that come with the box set.

reply

Nor the slick looking box on your shelf. That's a damn tragedy, honestly.

They are the same extras ever since the original dvd box set.

I just looked on the back of both the Blu-Ray and new 4K Steelbook editions of Last Crusade currently for sale on Amazon and not a single special feature is listed.

I then found this review:

https://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/9888/indiana-jones-and-the-last-crusade-4k-blu-ray/index.html

It states that all of the special features are on a separate fifth disc in the box set, which is exactly how it was in the DVD set.

Simple solution: take out the Skull case (assuming it has its own box, which it may not), put a blank BluRay case in its place, then throw Skull in a shelf or sell it on Ebay - or put Skull backwards so the label isn't showing if you don't have a blank BluRay case.
