but Mason was a history teacher...

How can you court martial a history teacher. Surely to be court martialled you would have to be in the army?

If he had to go to court it would be a civil court surely?

reply

Do you seriously thing standardised courts are applicable in a situation like this?

They are running themselves like a band of soldiers, tue call themselves the second mass infantry unit. Yes they are a band of teachers, ex-convict, soldiers and children of war, but they are a circumstantially created combined military unit. Therefore court martial is applicable I believe.

reply

What civil court? Society was basically destroyed.

What I didn't get was once Weaver figured out what was going on with a base that supposedly adhered to military law, why didn't he at least try to pull rank? One of the first things said when they arrived was that technically he was now the ranking officer on base; regardless of his initial decision he had the authority to assume control at any time. It's a dick move but can be necessary at times, and it might have given him time to get his people out of there before it got too bad.

Aye If he was a history Professor it no wonder America gets in a mess .
This was the same "History professor" ,who, in the the first episode, while exorting the team to fight said a smaller force can beat a larger superior force
and then gave as an example the Scots defeating the "British" at Stirling bridge .
The Scots defeated the bloody English, not the British, the Scots the English (and Welsh ) did not become the "British" till the 1st of May 1707 The Treaty of Union specified the name of the new Island state as Great Britain while describing it as
one Kingdom and "the United Kingdom"
The Battle of Stirling Bridge was 1297 so it would be a further 410 years before there would be "British"Some History Professor .
