Looks like a 'made for tv movie'

The story sounds decent but the acting looks like it should be on TLC or Oxygen or something. The acting in the trailer looks pretty terrible. Thats too bad because the story is somewhat intriguing.

I actually thought they made a similar movie for tv several years ago.

It's not a bad thing its just why pay for something that is "made for tv" quality. Also I didn't know this was a "christian" movie. I thought it was just a movie. If this film has a religious agenda, then I really don't want to see it. And before anyone ask: I'm not an atheist, I read and study the bible and consider myself to be a "nonreligious christian". :-)

ummmm a little kid who writes letters to God does not necessarily make this a Christian movie.

The acting looks decent. Christian films never provide outstanding acting, which is a shame. A Christian film SHOULD be about good acting too since you will not spread God's message if your film feels fake.

This movie seems a cut above the average Christian film in terms of acting.

As for it being a made-for-TV movie, maybe it has that feel, but the theaters need some good dramas like this. Besides, made-for-TV movies often end up being better than the contrived theatrical stuff dominating the big screen. I'll take this over them.

I disagree. It's not about winning praise or winning awards. It's about making the characters seem like real people, which is what good acting does. If they feel like unreal people, the message will seem forced and not very genuine.

Messages mean nothing if not properly expressed. If you want to spread God's message, you have to do it in a convincing way. If you do it verbally, but talk like a kindergartner, people won't take you seriously. If you do it in a book but write it carelessly, people won't take you seriously. If you do it in a movie but have poor acting/script, people won't take you seriously.

If you honestly want people to take something from your work in terms of a Godly message, you have to present that message properly, or it will just feel fake, and we don't want God to feel fake. So songs about God should not be afraid to be a memorable melody. Books about God should be well-written. And yes, movies about God should have a convincing script and as good acting as possible.

Who cares about awards, they should have good acting because this is for GOD, and doesn't he deserve our best? Why should movies about God be given half-hearted acting? God doesn't deserve mediocre, and neither does his message. If the message is delivered convincingly, then maybe more people will take something away from it.

Christianity is NOT religion

Please explain.

It's supposed to be like Islam or Buddhism - a way of life, not a set of rules you follow on Sunday and then ignore the rest of the week. However, that perception has been severely crippled by institutions like the Catholic church...
