Does anyone prefer Jack?

Okay I totally lover Hatter but I just wanted to see if anyone preferred Jack. He is cute and I liked him at first. I was a little afraid our handsome Hatter might be a bit of a wus. Luckily he quickly became hero material.

I've been pondering this myself. To me, there seems to be little point in making a team hatter when it would likely meet little to no opposition with a team jack.

Me hearts hatta.

I liked Jack too. I felt bad for him when Alice dumped him at the end, but at least the Duchess really does care for him.

I am actually older than your Jesus. I wish I could have known him, but I missed it.

reply

Team. Hatter.

Jack is dead to me.

...

Just kidding. He's alright...I guess...But Hatter is love, to me. He's the only hero in this story, as far as I'm concerned. Bravery and loyalty through and through.

I like Hatter because in the end, he puts Alice first. I understand Jack was trying to free his country, but he was a bit egotistical.

Heh heh. Everybody likes Hatter best. More Jack for me! :D

I understand why Alice turned him down. Just saying, if it were me, I don't think I could say no to being queen. Maybe it's his airs and graces. Or the fact that he's reliable and responsible, very strong, tall and handsome, has blue eyes (my favorite) has such a nice, soft voice, and...and... I could go on forever, I think. He reminds me of my idea of Caspian when I read the Narnia books (hate the movie version) Jack is the prince who actually cares about his people, and he won't even allow his own mother to stand between him and the happiness of his subjects. That's what a leader should be like.
OK, I'll shut up now, and you can all go back to commenting "Hatter is sooooooooooooo SEXY!!!!!!" ad nauseum.

Jack is pretty hot, but there aren't words to describe Hatter, you know other than Andrew Lee Potts lol.

Or the fact that he's reliable and responsible
But how do we know that? The reason that Twihards can form into Team Jacob vs. Team Edward is that we get to see Bella spend lots of quality time with both boys. But in "Alice" we really only get to see her with Hatter. We don't know that Jack is all that reliable or responsible, in fact from what the Wonderlanders say it seems like his good side only just reared its head recently. All we really know about Jack is that he's good looking and he's a good liar. But damn, is he ever good looking. I even loved his crazy gold hair.

Why settle with words what you can settle with a flamethrower?

reply

Looks wise Jack was good looking I guess ( too prettyboyish for my personal tastes though) but there's really no competition when it comes to Hatter! I was actually kind of mad that he asked Alice to be his queen at the end. I kind of wanted him and Duchess to really get together because she did seem to really care about him. I guess that was just me though wanting things to fall "happily in place" like that. You know, Hatter and Alice, Jack and Duchess: everbody wins lol.
Also I agree with what people are saying, that he seemed to put himself before Alice. Like when they put her in the "Truth Room" for example. He didn't even try to help her, knowing right well people could die in there. Hatter, on the other hand, was quick to bust right in and rescue her

Not to be superficial. Well, this is superficial. I didn't like his bleached hair and the cut and his tight fitting suit. It was too metro for me. Is "metro" still used? You get my meaning. I thought he was handsome at first but the hair cut ruined it. That or seeing Hatter.

reply

I think Jack/Phillip Winchester is handsome, and I prefer the Jack from the start of the mini-series and the scene where Alice is in her 'bubble' and his and her sentences are being passed. At those times he was a guy caring for a girl he fell in love with, and I do believe he loved her. The rest of the time he's more Duty to Wonderland. Still Hatter/Andrew is more my type

reply

Jack did end up with the Duchess you know. Of course they ended up together because Jack really never wanted to be with Alice for the rest of his life. He cared for Alice and needed Alice to help him save Wonderland but his heart belongs to the Duchess. The only reason he asked Alice to be Queen was out of duty.

Hahaha my movie experience was funny! My friend was rooting for Jack the entire time, and it was hilarious. I was diehard team Hatter and she was diehard team Jack. So at the scene when Hatter was about to kiss Alice, and Jack walks in, I screamed in horror, "NOOOO!!!" and she was like, "YES!!!!" But I got the last laugh when at the very end, Jack proposed. I almost died because I thought she would say yes, but when she didn't, I was like, "OMG YEAH!" haha. We were very into it...

reply

Hell No!! I had this big smile on my face when she turned down Jack lol

reply

I did like Jack and I hope he does get a happy ending. Maybe with the Duchess? She did care for him in her own way.

reply

You all DO realize, I hope, that Jack and Hatter belong together? Living happily ever after.

reply

In my version of Wonderland, they belong together as the leaders of Wonderland, with their respective ladies. I am reading a fan fic which brings in someone who could be a champion for the Duchess, maybe causing a bit of wake-up in Jack's vision of her. Jack just seems to belong with the Duchess who, even though she seemed to be on the Queen's side, was only trying to stay in a place where she could help the man she cared about. Alice was a much more "physical" type of girl, like Hatter. Jack was the guy with the power and the brains, I guess you could say. (Remember how she bested him in the first part of the movie?) Anyway, I like the direction it was taking.

Oh Mary are you the reviewer Mary?

Honestly though I myself would probably go for someone Jack, ya know minus the lying and bleached hair, but Hatter is like amazi-...no I told myself I wasn't going to type that again *heavy sigh*

Though honestly if I were the Duchess I wouldn't take him back if he paid me. I mean jeez she saved him and then he turned around and proposed to Alice...again. I'm sorry but that's just wrong, I wouldn't want to be someones second choice...that's why I created Noah lol.

Do you know why they call me Hatter?
Because you wear a hat?
...No...

reply

Well, I think Jack just didn't believe that the Duchess was on his side, which is why he asked why she was doing what she did when she saved him. Sometimes we are blind to what is right before us and if the Duchess was really in love with him, she would understand. I think she was jealous of Alice, but knowing Alice belonged to Hatter, may make all the difference. He didn't actually reject the Duchess, he just couldn't believe in the person she really was. I always felt that he proposed to Alice out of gratefulness and a certain fondness for her and her strength. But she was never anyone but Hatter's, that's evident in the many looks between them. Jack has his merits, but like many leaders....his first loyalty is to his country. The Duchess is a part of his country. Alice really isn't. (Probably why it's going to hard for her and Hatter.....that difference)
(Sorry this is so long.)

I guess I'm just way to girl power, because if that were true, the whole proposing to Alice out of gratefulness it doesn't really make it any better to me anyway. It seems like if that were the case he just thought of the Duchess as someone who was waiting in the wings, someone who would say yes no matter what.

I mean what would've happened if Alice had said yes, the Duchess would've been left with no one. Jack was, in a way, putting his feelings for Alice and what he felt were his obligations, above his feelings for her.

And even though she knew before she told him how she felt, that she would never be first in his life, she still told him. She put herself out there and he just turned around and proposed to Alice. It kinda hurts a girl.

But then again thats just my opinion and I could just be completely jaded lol.

Alice belongs with Hatter, no question.
BUT Jack is really, really cute ,and brave, and willing to give his life to gain freedom for his people.
I do admit though that he needs to learn a few things; like you never, ever use people no matter what duty demands.
I think he started learning as the story progressed.
After all, he had to over come his awful upbringing ! : )

At the end, when they pushed Alice back through the mirror I was like "noooo hatter go with her!!!!!!" and then he showed up at the end at her house and i was just bouncing up and down with glee lol i looooved him!! jack was a jerk, i wanted to stab him in the eye when the queen first told alice he was her son and he said all that junk about not caring about her. but he turned out okay, but i still loooooove hatter more
