It's been ten years since we wait for another Kungfu film that can match the Counching Tiger Hidden Dragon by Ang Lee.

Too bad we're still waiting...

oh man ..but i think it did match crouching tiger.. both were captivating.. emotional.. both had characters you'l remember.. of course.. zeng jing and ah sheng love story couldn't be compared to li mubai and shau liens greatest love story because they have a very sad ending.. unlike reign of assassins.. reign of assassins more like sacrificing, revenge, desires, and dreams.. but really, it did match crouching tiger.. barbie zhu is no zhang ziyi but hey i can live with that.. and the fighting scene as well just great.. i most enjoy the bank robbery scene and the fighting in the house and the ballet-like kung fu of michelle yeoh near the end.. my fave villain is magician and i think the one using needles is very cool.. AND I MUST ADD THE WAY THEY USED THE WEAPONS PLAIN AMAZING.. i love the knowledge how to defeat your opponent's weapon.. what the weapon's weakness and strongest point..

i wish for part 2..

its not good than Counching Tiger Hidden Dragon, but its OK.much better than many other kongfu movies.

Crouching tiger is a boring film overrated by western audiences that had never seen a kung fu movie in their entire lives beyond some Bruce Lee flicks. Reign of Assassins is a damn fine film, and way better than CTHD.

Elitist nonsense. I liked Reign of Assassins but you cannot begin to compare the two films for appeal or production quality. In my opinion.

Agree that 'Crouching Tiger' is overrated. CTHD has its moment, but, on the whole, I find it quite boring. 'Reign of Assassins' is more entertaining imho.

altrough it is not as great as counching tiger hidden dragon, its long way on the road from kill bill. this is a good movie.

Reign of assassins is the best wu xia pian of the decade. And it's better than the good but overrated (mostly by ignorant Western audiences) Crouching tiger hidden dragon. And it's of course 1000000000000000000 times better than anything Tarantino (talking about an overrated director...) has ever done.

In the ten years between 2000's CTHD, and 2010's 'Reign of Assassins', there were PLENTY of kung-fu/martial-arts films made that were just as good, if not superior, to the good-yet-massively-overrated-in-USA 'Crouching Tiger...'

Those are just off the top of my head, I'm sure there's plenty of better ones I'm forgetting.
