Uh, major plot fault...

At the beginning of the film they state that whoever possess the corpse of the monk rules the king-fu universe. So how the hell would anyone be able to take it from them by martial means? The fact that this gang - and for Christs sake, Drizzle? Who picked that *beep* name? - killed them and stole the corpse without breaking a sweat should probably speak volumes about its apparent worth as a mystical power artifact. LOL!

Don't you get it that this was just a "myth" about the corpse and whoever wanted it badly were all delusional and crazy in believing in that the corpse had some kind of supernatural powers.

For example the crippled man who believed that he'd be able to walk again once he possesses the complete corpse or "The Wheel King" who believed it would restore his manhood.

The fact that whoever could easily re-possess the corpse proves that it's powers is all just superstitious legend.

In movies, it's what they call a MacGuffin. The mysterious black box that sets plot points in motion, but does not have much intrinsic importance in itself.

Though it was a mild flaw imo that they exposed the remains so much. Should have kept it more secretive a la Pulp Fiction's briefcase

re: the name 'Drizzle'.

OK, it is the nearest name to the Chinese, Drizzle was taught the Water Shedding technique with a specific sword.
'Drizzle' is defined as 'to let fall in fine drops or particles' and this is exactly what the water-shedding technique taught.

I guess we'll never know (unless they make that prequel) whether or not the corpse did have powers since no one was in possession of all of it but for a second. The main bad guy said he actually had to dissect and study the corpse to learn the secrets of how the monk flowed his energy in order to get the healing powers from it. He never got a chance to so we'll never know unfortunately.

Yeah, near the end of the movie SPOILER

It is revealed that the corpse could regenerate body parts. If you were in a fight with a guy with a sword and he cut off your arm, you could grow it back and be alright.

But in order to unlock this technique, you would have to be at a high spiritual level.
